It gets the job done.

I used this textbook for my Hermeneutics class for Fall 2015. This book was clear, concise, and well-organized. Personally, I would've liked a little more meat about typology (type & antetype). All in all, Introduction to Biblical Interpretation is a solid text on reading, interpreting, and applying the Biblical text to one's life.

A great resource!

This is an invaluable comprehensive resource for any serious student of the Bible who needs practical guidance in interpreting the Bible correctly. The three authors are Seminary professors who share their expertise on hermeneutics and affirm their position that a biblical text has one meaning that is discovered by using the historical/grammatical/semantical approach of interpretation. One must also consider the literary, cultural, and social issues of the text. Understanding a text in its context is also vitally important. The authors also explore other traditional and modern interpretative methods that reflect current biblical scholarship. Lastly, the authors discuss our role as interpreters and what we bring to a biblical text, i.e. preunderstandings, life experiences, etc. This is a great resource!

love it!

i actually found this book but for base at a garage sale, when my friend told me it wasn't for violin i ordered this one. i love how it gives you exercises and breaks things down for you, it's helped me and i definitely recommend it to someone who is just beginning to learn to play the violin! seeing as that i never payed attention in music class when i was a kid, thinking that i wouldn't want to learn to play an instrument anyway, this book has helped me in remembering the strings and how to read sheet music. the basic stuff at least.

This book has many short tunes to sightread and work on your playing. It ocassionally teaches new techniques and times. In the back, it has a scale guide and some band arrangments.

Amazing combination of beautiful tunes

I think this book is totally amazing. I'm teaching piano and kids and adults are loving the choice of tunes I give them.
I love the combination of beautiful easy to play jazz and blues pieces combining with some famous classic tunes and theory just what you need not get bored.
The arrangement is what makes kids want to play it. It is challenging for them but not confusing like other books.

A Great Lassie Holiday Book--with a Twist

If you purchase this book after looking at the cover and thinking it's going to be a new story about Timmy and Lassie on the farm in Calverton, you're in for a little surprise. Hamner and Sipes have crossed the storyline in two different LASSIE television series. The setting and situation are the little town in Vermont from the 1997 Animal Planet LASSIE series, where the mom is a widowed veterinarian. But instead of mother and son being Karen and Timmy Cabot, they are Ruth and Timmy Martin from the 1960s LASSIE original series episodes, and the illustrations are clearly that of June Lockhart and Jon Provost!
However, the young children-and most Lassie fans--for which this was written probably won't care. It's an exciting story about a dangerous situation on Christmas Eve, the illustrations are gorgeous, and the story actually touches on the true meaning of Christmas rather than receiving expensive gifts and Santa Claus and his reindeer. Very enjoyable for any Lassie fan.

Enjoy a Christmas Eve Adventure with Lassie and Timmy and His Family

"Lassie A Christmas Story" is a delightful 9" by 11" hardback 48 page picture book for children. The book contains beautiful full color drawings on every page.

For all Lassie fans and anyone who ever owned a collie or someone who just enjoys a simple Christmas story where love and care for each other triumph over dangers and trials, this is the book for you. The characters in this book are right from the 1960's Lassie TV show. Readers will enjoy how the family and dog bond together to overcome some very difficult circumstances on Christmas Eve. From being involved in a truck crash, trapped in a blizzard or coming face to face with the most formidable enemy of this Christmas tale based on the Lassie TV series, you will enjoy the "good overcoming evil" plot. Interwoven in this Lassie tale is the true meaning of Christmas and the simple Christmas celebration of a Vermont farm family. The text is written in very easy language. Anyone in third grade or above should probably be able to read the book. You must read the book to find out who or what is the real enemy of this loving family and their Christmas celebration.

Christmas with Lassie

Lassie A Christmas story by Earl Hammer
I recall Earl Hammer is the one who wrote the Walton's series and thought I'd listen to this one and knew I'd enjoy it.
Vermont, a day before Christmas: Timmy and his dog Lassie watch the snow fall. Their grandfather showed up and they leave to go cut down the Christmas tree for that year.
In the snow they find many animals footprints, even the mountain lion.
When they find the tree Timmy and Lassie had picked while picking berries one spring day they do come up to the lion and Lassie with his barking sends the lion on his way.
A blue spruce! Ruth, Timmy's mother goes out to get a free things before the blizzard is to hit. She gets bails of hay for the deer herd as they won't go able to get much with all the heavy snow in Hudson Falls.
Lassie and Timmy set out for their grandfather's house and Lassie runs to find Ruth. Andrew from the store helps them to go find Ruth.
Lassie is close to where Ruth's truck went off the road and he gets wet in the river. Lassie scares the lion away from the deer and goes to find the boys where he drags Timmy in the direction of where the truck was.
The tree has been finished and the nativity set up and Ruth looks at the bright star in the sky and thanks God they are safe.
