Biblical and Consistent with Real Life Application

I believe we can be tempted to gravitate to names such as Jay Adams and David Powlison when looking for supplements and training in the area of Biblical Counseling. This is by no means a slight or criticism, but some names are just more recognized than others. Much of their material is foundational, but what was needed was some additional development and application. I believe that this book has accomplished this task and a little more. The book is broken down into easy to digest sections with thorough research and footnoting. What I also liked was the ease of reading, and the resistance to add big words for academia's sake. It is both practical, systematic, and real-life applicable. In several sections the author uses scenarios to paint a picture and then analyzes the approach.
I believe this book will benefit both lay-person, student and pastor alike in the area of Biblical counseling.
